Steve Madden acquires women's apparel company BB Dakota

New York-based footwear retailer Steve Madden Ltd. said Aug. 13 that it has acquired women's apparel company BB Dakota.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

California-based BB Dakota distributes its products to wholesale customers, including department stores and e-commerce retailers, and on its e-commerce platform. Its brand portfolio includes BB Dakota and Jack by BB Dakota, and licensed brand Cupcakes and Cashmere.

The womenswear company had net sales of around $43 million for the 12 months ended June 30.

The news comes a day after Steve Madden announced its acquisition of footwear brand Greats Brand LLC.
