Compass Point comments on AerCap Holdings' latest transaction report

Compass Point Research & Trading LLC analyst Scott Valentin wrote that AerCap Holdings NV's fourth-quarter transaction report showed a higher level of aircraft sales and purchases than he had predicted, supporting upside potential to his 2018 fourth-quarter GAAP EPS estimate of $1.63.

He said the sales generate cashflow that is either invested in newer aircraft, improving fleet profile, and/or used to repurchase shares.

He has a "buy" rating on the company's stock, with a $69 price target.

CEO Aengus Kelly said in the company's quarterly transaction report, "We executed 145 aircraft transactions including 72 leases, 36 sales of older aircraft and 37 purchases of the most in demand new technology aircraft." The chief executive noted that the company has now leased 48 of the 50 Embraer E-2 aircraft that it has on order.
