Rockwell Automation Inc. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended June 30 came to $1.31 per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of $1.54 per share.
EPS climbed 7.0% year over year from $1.23.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was $177.9 million, a gain from $171.3 million in the prior-year period.
The normalized profit margin rose to 11.3% from 10.4% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue declined year over year to $1.58 billion from $1.65 billion, and total operating expenses declined 6.0% from the prior-year period to $1.27 billion from $1.36 billion.
Reported net income increased from the prior-year period to $206.0 million, or $1.52 per share, from $199.6 million, or $1.43 per share.
