SSE Renewables to repower Scottish wind farm

SSE Renewables Ltd. received the go-ahead from the Scottish government to repower the Tangy wind farm on the Kintyre peninsula.

The repowering will reduce the number of wind turbines to 16 from 22 but will increase the capacity of the power plant to up to 80 MW from 18.7 MW, according to a Dec. 23 news release.

The SSE PLC subsidiary is considering the options for a route to market for the project ahead of making a final investment decision.
