NextEnergy Capital acquires NC solar plant

A NextEnergy Capital Ltd.-owned fund completed the acquisition of a solar power plant, located in Cabarrus County, N.C.

According to S&P Global Market Intelligence data, London-based NextPower III fund acquired the 74.8-MW NC 102 solar project, which was commissioned in September 2018, from Canadian Solar Inc. subsidiary Recurrent Energy LLC.

The facility sells its power to Duke Energy Corp. utility Duke Energy Carolinas LLC. Recurrent completed the funding for the project in May 2018.
