The U.S. Commerce Department plans to give Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd. another 90 days to buy supplies from American companies to minimize disruption for its customers, Reuters reported Aug. 17, citing two sources familiar with the situation.
Huawei was initially given until Aug. 19 to purchase supplies from U.S. companies. However, the terms surrounding the potential extension may still change ahead of the Aug. 19 deadline, one of the sources said.
In May, the U.S. blacklisted the telecommunication equipment provider over national security.
