Danish banks' capital requirements could rise 34% under new Basel rules

The capital requirements for Danish banks could increase by 34%, or 78 billion kroner, if the final elements of Basel III announced by the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision at the Bank for International Settlements are implemented without changes, Reuters reported Feb. 7.

An expert group appointed by the Danish government had reached this conclusion, the Danish business ministry said.

As of Feb. 7, US$1 was equivalent to 6.06 Danish kroner.
