Sky Ltd. will gain wholesale access to BUUK Infrastructure's full-fiber networks across the U.K. under a strategic partnership.
The deal allows the Comcast Corp. unit to further expand its fiber broadband footprint by becoming the key tenant in BUUK's networks covering new and existing residential developments.
Sky and BUUK, an independent provider of last-mile utility networks, already collaborate to provide Sky TV in new-build homes.
Earlier reports said Sky is considering investing in Liberty Global PLC's new full-fiber network. The move follows Prime Minister Boris Johnson's pledge to bring full fiber connections across Britain in the next six years.
