Renuka Agri Foods PLC said its normalized net income for the fiscal first quarter ended June 30 was 6 Sri Lankan cents per share, an increase of 65.5% from 4 cents per share in the prior-year period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 32.7 million rupees, a gain of 61.2% from 20.3 million rupees in the prior-year period.
The normalized profit margin increased to 3.2% from 2.6% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue grew 26.7% on an annual basis to 977.1 million rupees from 770.9 million rupees, and total operating expenses climbed 25.4% on an annual basis to 902.4 million rupees from 719.5 million rupees.
Reported net income grew 61.2% year over year to 54.8 million rupees, or 10 cents per share, from 34.0 million rupees, or 6 cents per share.
As of Aug. 15, US$1 was equivalent to 130.18 Sri Lankan rupees.
