AT&T Inc. created a new Global Public Sector organization, which will be led by Kay Kapoor.
The organization gives advanced information and communications technologies to government and education customers across federal, state, local and international public sector markets. The company said April 3 that its 2016 Public Sector sales amounted to about $15 billion.
Kapoor, who will be the president of the new group, previously led AT&T's federal business for four years. Kapoor also led the company's multibillion-dollar, 25-year partnership with First Responder Network Authority, or FirstNet, which will build and manage the first nationwide broadband network dedicated to first responders, including police, firefighters and EMS.
