Pattern Energy Group 2 LP, or Pattern Development, has started operations at its 220-MW Grady Wind Energy Center in Curry County, N.M.
Pattern Development affiliate Pattern Energy Group Inc. is operating the project, which will sell its output to Sacramento Municipal Utility District under a 25-year power purchase agreement.
Pattern Energy has previously added Grady Wind to its list of identified right of first offer projects. The completion of Grady Wind marks the final phase of a 544-MW suite of wind projects in the state, according to a Sept. 4 news release.
"We also plan to ramp up construction in early 2020 on more than 800 MW of new wind facilities in central New Mexico, creating hundreds of new construction jobs and generating billions of dollars in economic impact," said Pattern Development CEO Mike Garland.
