Qatar Petroleum issues tender for North Field expansion project

State-owned Qatar Petroleum issued an engineering, procurement and construction tender for new facilities to be located in the Ras Laffan Industrial City in Qatar that will be part of the company's North Field expansion project.

In a Sept. 14 release, the company said the facilities include a new propane storage tank, vapor recovery compressors, a plant condensate storage tank, a mono-ethylene glycol storage tank and distribution system, a liquid products export berth as well as liquid product lines from the main North Field expansion plant location to the liquid products storage area.

The North Field expansion project involves the addition of four "mega" LNG trains and is part of Qatar Petroleum's plan to expand Qatar's LNG production from 77 million tons per annum to 110 million tons per annum by 2024. The company's subsidiary Qatargas will handle the project's execution.
