Lamar Advertising Co. struck a four-year deal with LED display and lighting manufacturer Ultravision International to buy LED billboard lights and modular LED display panels.
The deal includes Ultravision's Ultra Billboard Light and the UltraPanel Modular LED Display Panels. The Ultravision Modular LED Display Panels are self-contained and come with a third less of energy usage, and one-third the weight and installation costs when compared to cabinet technology.
The Ultra Billboard light illuminates large billboards with two lights that give even light coverage with no hot or dark spots. The technology uses 300 watts of electricity, reducing energy usage by up to 92% when compared with conventional lighting, according to an Oct. 10 news release.
