Life Insurance Corp. of India gets acting chairman

The Indian government has named Hemant Bhargava acting chairman of Life Insurance Corp. of India, The Hindu BusinessLine reported.

The appointment follows the retirement of VK Sharma from the top job at the company on Dec. 31, 2018, according to the report.

Bhargava, who is a managing director at the state-owned life insurer, is believed to be among the front-runners for the post of permanent chairman at Life Insurance Corp. of India, according to the report.
