The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau made changes in its executive team, including naming Ren Essene as chief data officer and Bryan Schneider as associate director in its supervision, enforcement and fair lending division.
Essene joined the CFPB in 2011 and before that, she was with the Federal Reserve. Schneider was previously secretary of the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.
The Bureau also named Desmond Brown as deputy associate director in its consumer education and engagement division, Jason Brown as assistant director for research and Karla Carnemark as deputy chief of staff.
Desmond Brown joined the CFPB in 2012 as part of the Office of Financial Empowerment, while Jason Brown was previously with the Social Security Administration, where he was associate commissioner in the office of research, evaluation and statistics. Carnemark has previously worked at the U.S. Department of Defense, U.S. Department of Commerce and the U.S. Department of Transportation.
