Sky unveils 50 original series for 2018

Sky plc will offer more than 50 original series in 2018, as part of Group CEO Jeremy Darroch's earlier commitment to boost investment in original productions by 25%, the British pay TV giant said.

The slate includes eight new commissions, such as the second series of comedy thriller "Bounty Hunters;" the second installment of crime thriller "Riviera;" brand-new gangland thriller "Gangs of London;" and three new comedies from Sky Arts' "Urban Myths" series, namely "Urban Myths: When Bowie Met Bolan," "Urban Myths: The Dali and The Cooper" and "Urban Myths: Public Enemy."

Also in the roster are "Ronnie Wood: Artist in Residence," featuring the artwork of Rolling Stones member and painter Ronnie Wood; and treasure hunt-themed entertainment show "Loot," produced by Shine TV.

Twenty-four of the 50 original series are returning shows, Sky said.
