General Dynamics Q3 EPS beats estimates

General Dynamics Corp. said its third-quarter net earnings totaled $913 million, a gain of 7.3% from $851 million in the prior-year period.

Third-quarter EPS climbed 10.2% year over year to $3.14, compared with the S&P Global Market Intelligence consensus GAAP estimate of $3.05. Revenue rose 7.3% year over year to $9.76 billion from $9.09 billion.

The defense contractor said revenue in its aerospace and combat systems segments rose 22.8% and 14.2%, respectively, on an annual basis. Marine systems segment revenue also climbed 11.6%.

Revenue fell 10.2% in the information technology business and slipped 0.8% in the mission systems segment.
