KGHM Polska Miedz SA's majority-owned Sierra Gorda copper mine in Chile resumed normal operations following a temporary shutdown, Reuters reported May 17.
Operations were suspended earlier in the week after a contractor died in an accident during routine maintenance activity.
Sierra Gorda produced 101,700 tonnes of copper in 2017. In March, KGHM flagged an 18% rise in output from the mine to about 130,000 tonnes in 2019.
