Toronto-based CI Financial Corp. appointed Kurt MacAlpine as CEO and director, effective Sept. 1.

MacAlpine was previously executive vice president and head of global distribution for WisdomTree Asset Management Inc. MacAlpine succeeds Peter Anderson, who intends to retire as CEO no later than mid-2020 but will stay on to aid in the transition of responsibilities.
