United States Cellular Corp. will launch its 5G network in parts of Iowa and Wisconsin beginning in the first quarter of 2020.
The company will roll out 5G coverage in Iowa for parts of Cedar Rapids, Davenport, Des Moines, Dubuque and Waterloo. Its first 5G coverage for Wisconsin will include parts of Green Bay, Madison, Milwaukee, Oshkosh and Racine.
"Iowa and Wisconsin are two of our largest markets, and we're excited to introduce 5G technology to customers in both urban and rural communities," said Michael Irizarry, executive vice president and chief technology officer.
A portfolio of 5G smartphones, connected devices and internet of things solutions will be available to U.S. Cellular customers in 2020.
