Goldman Sachs names managing director for private wealth management division

Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta promoted Reggie O'Shields to executive vice president and director of enterprise solutions and Alp Can to executive vice president and chief risk officer, effective Jan. 1.

O'Shields will continue as the bank's general counsel and chief compliance officer, a position he has held since March 2011.

Prior to the new role, Can was senior vice president and chief risk officer.


Goldman Sachs Group Inc. appointed former Fidelity executive Anthony Rochte as managing director and head of Goldman Sachs Private Bank Select, its business that offers registered investment advisers and independent broker/dealers access to securities-backed loans, InvestmentNews reported.

Rochte succeeds Whitney Magruder, who will remain with Goldman Sachs Private Bank.


Blue Ridge Bankshares Inc. named Jim McCarty chief administrative officer.


Bedford, N.H.-based Primary Bank hired Brenda Davis as assistant vice president and business development officer.

Earlier, Brenda was the branch manager at Bank of New England in Londonderry, N.H. The bank also named Lauren Neves as branch manager. Both Davis and Neves will be based out of the new branch in Derry, N.H., in mid-February.


Peoples Bank promoted Michael Machado to senior vice president and commercial market leader. In addition, the bank promoted Everett Lamers to commercial banking officer.

Prior to the promotion, Machado was vice president and commercial banking officer of the bank's Wenatchee Financial Center, while Lamers was a senior commercial credit analyst.


Lincoln, Neb.-based West Gate Bank's board elected Dana Brashear senior vice president, correspondent mortgage channel manager for its Correspondent Mortgage division. Brashear joined the bank in 2017.


Oak Ridge, N.J.-based Lakeland Bank named Trish Nuccio first senior vice president, director of digital strategy.

Most recently, she was vice president, customer facing, digital product delivery and information technology at GAF Materials Corp.


Avidbank Holdings Inc., the parent company of Avidbank, will add Jeff Griffor to its venture lending team.

Griffor joined the bank as senior vice president, venture lending, and will be based in Boston. Earlier, he was the managing director at Hercules Capital Inc.


Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago named Michael Ericson executive vice president and COO, effective Jan. 10. Previously Ericson held the role of executive vice president and group head, members and markets.


Business First Bancshares Inc. announced the resignation of C. Stewart Slack from its board and that of its wholly owned subsidiary, b1Bank.

Slack will now take up a senior advisory role on the bank's executive management team.

Financial services

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission named Allen Blume deputy CFO in the agency's Office of Financial Management.

In the new role, Blume will be responsible for directing and coordinating the SEC's financial planning, budgeting, accounting, financial reporting and financial systems.

Prior to the appointment at the SEC, Blume served as the budget director for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.


Spire Capital Partners LLC promoted Associate and Vice President Rupali Varma to principal.

Prior to joining Spire Capital, Rupali served as an analyst in the technology, media and communications investment banking group at Citigroup Inc.


Hilltop Securities Inc. promoted John Muschalek to head of wealth management. In the new role, Muschalek will oversee the private client group, independent adviser network, securities lending and clearing services businesses.

Most recently, Muschalek was chief administrative officer.


Walker & Dunlop Inc. added a property sales team in Austin, Texas, that includes Managing Directors Matt Pohl and Forrest Bass and Vice President Spencer Roy.

Pohl, Bass and Roy will lead the team in the origination and execution of multifamily property sales, with a focus on Texas and the southern U.S.

Prior to Walker & Dunlop, Bass, Pohl and Roy were part of the capital markets group at HFF Inc. before its acquisition by Jones Lang LaSalle Inc.


Ronald Thacker, managing director of Morgan Stanley's wealth management business in its central region, is leaving the firm, AdvisorHub reported, citing an internal memo from Vince Lumia, head of the firm's almost 16,000 brokers.

Thacker did not return a request for comment to the news outlet.

Steve Austin, current director of Morgan Stanley's Great Lakes region, will replace Thacker in the central region.


Mastercard Inc. appointed Raj Seshadri as president for its data and services organization. Seshadri succeeds Kevin Stanton, who is now chief information officer.


Boston Private, the corporate brand of Boston Private Financial Holdings Inc. named Allison Baird chief marketing officer.

Baird was previously senior vice president of products and solutions.
