Cemex SAB de CV said its normalized net income for the third quarter came to 23 Mexican centavos per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 18 centavos per share.
EPS fell 14.8% year over year from 27 centavos.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 3.56 billion pesos, a decrease of 10.8% from 3.99 billion pesos in the prior-year period.
The normalized profit margin declined to 5.6% from 6.1% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue fell year over year to 63.81 billion pesos from 65.95 billion pesos, and total operating expenses fell year over year to 54.93 billion pesos from 55.64 billion pesos.
Reported net income came to 5.25 billion pesos, or 33 centavos per share, compared with 5.27 billion pesos, or 35 centavos per share, in the year-earlier period.
As of Oct. 26, US$1 was equivalent to 19.07 Mexican pesos.
