Seiren fiscal Q3 profit climbs YOY

Seiren Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Dec. 31, 2014, came to ¥20.78 per share, compared with ¥20.60 per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥1.24 billion, a gain from ¥1.23 billion in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin declined to 4.9% from 4.9% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue climbed year over year to ¥25.53 billion from ¥25.10 billion, and total operating expenses increased from the prior-year period to ¥23.83 billion from ¥23.29 billion.

Reported net income declined 12.4% on an annual basis to ¥1.02 billion, or ¥17.06 per share, from ¥1.16 billion, or ¥19.49 per share.

As of Feb. 12, US$1 was equivalent to ¥118.90.
