Del Frisco's Restaurant fiscal Q1 profit climbs YOY

Del Frisco's Restaurant Group Inc. said its normalized net income for the fiscal first quarter ended March 22 was 21 cents per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 21 cents per share.

EPS rose year over year from 20 cents.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was $4.9 million, an increase from $4.8 million in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin fell to 6.1% from 6.4% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue climbed 8.1% year over year to $81.2 million from $75.1 million, and total operating expenses climbed 8.9% year over year to $73.3 million from $67.3 million.

Reported net income came to $5.4 million, or 23 cents per share, compared to $5.4 million, or 23 cents per share, in the year-earlier period.
