Bancóldex issues 400B pesos in social impact bonds

Banco de Comercio Exterior de Colombia SA – BANCÓLDEX has made the first issuance of social impact bonds in Colombia for a total amount of 400 billion pesos, Portafolio reported.

Demand for the issuance reached 1.2 trillion pesos, 4x the initial offered amount of 300 billion pesos.

The bank will use the funds from the issuance to expand credit for victims of armed conflict, women, and rural enterprises, the report said.

The offering has technical support from the Inter-American Development Bank, through a technical assistance program by the Swiss government.

As of May 24, US$1 was equivalent to 2,865.30 Colombian pesos.
