Bengal Windsor Thermoplastics fiscal Q3 profit falls YOY

Bengal Windsor Thermoplastics Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended March 31 was 29 poisha per share, a decrease of 21.6% from 37 poisha per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 26.2 million taka, a decline of 21.5% from 33.3 million taka in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin climbed to 16.6% from 13.8% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue fell 34.7% on an annual basis to 158.1 million taka from 242.2 million taka, and total operating expenses decreased 37.6% on an annual basis to 113.3 million taka from 181.4 million taka.

Reported net income declined 34.1% from the prior-year period to 34.8 million taka, or 38 poisha per share, from 52.8 million taka, or 58 poisha per share.

As of May 1, US$1 was equivalent to 77.72 taka.
