Union at Glencore-operated CEZ zinc refinery ratifies wage deal, ends strike

Noranda Income Fund said Nov. 27 that workers at the CEZ zinc refinery in Quebec, which is operated by a Glencore Plc subsidiary, ended the ongoing strike after voting in favor of a new collective agreement.

The new wage deal will be effective from Dec. 1, 2017, to Nov. 30, 2023.

The unionized employees of Local 6486 of the United Steelworkers of America have been on strike since mid-February.
