Yum China Holdings Inc. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Aug. 31 was 49 cents per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 56 cents per share.
EPS climbed year over year from 48 cents.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was $193.8 million, an increase of 11.5% from $173.8 million in the prior-year period.
The normalized profit margin climbed to 9.5% from 9.2% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue rose 8.2% on an annual basis to $2.04 billion from $1.88 billion, and total operating expenses rose 8.1% on an annual basis to $1.74 billion from $1.61 billion.
Reported net income grew 9.6% on an annual basis to $211.2 million, or 53 cents per share, from $192.8 million, or 53 cents per share.
