Chimney Co. Q3 profit climbs YOY

Chimney Co. Ltd. said its third-quarter normalized net income came to ¥28.30 per share, a gain from ¥27.77 per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥545.6 million, a gain from ¥537.5 million in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin declined to 4.6% from 4.7% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue grew year over year to ¥11.79 billion from ¥11.44 billion, and total operating expenses grew from the prior-year period to ¥10.92 billion from ¥10.58 billion.

Reported net income grew 6.5% on an annual basis to ¥480.8 million, or ¥24.94 per share, from ¥451.5 million, or ¥23.33 per share.

As of Nov. 12, US$1 was equivalent to ¥122.92.
