Royal Unibrew A/S said its normalized net income for the first quarter came to 1.35 Danish kroner per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 1.09 kroner per share.
EPS climbed 74.3% year over year from 78 øre.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 74.1 million kroner, a gain of 69.8% from 43.6 million kroner in the year-earlier period.
The normalized profit margin increased to 5.7% from 3.4% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue increased year over year to 1.29 billion kroner from 1.27 billion kroner, and total operating expenses fell on an annual basis to 1.16 billion kroner from 1.17 billion kroner.
Reported net income increased from the prior-year period to 92.2 million kroner, or 1.68 kroner per share, from 13.5 million kroner, or 24 øre per share.
As of April 28, US$1 was equivalent to 6.79 Danish kroner.
