China Distance Education Holdings Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended June 30 came to 11 cents per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 4 cents per share.
In the prior-year period, the per-share result came in at a profit of 11 cents.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was $4.1 million, compared with $4.1 million in the prior-year period.
The normalized profit margin fell to 14.3% from 16.5% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue grew 15.3% on an annual basis to $28.8 million from $25.0 million, and total operating expenses climbed 20.6% year over year to $22.9 million from $19.0 million.
Reported net income totaled $5.3 million, or 15 cents per share, compared to $5.3 million, or 15 cents per share, in the year-earlier period.
