Ansys, Inc. said its second-quarter normalized net income came to 60 cents per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 82 cents per share.
EPS rose 6.6% year over year from 56 cents.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was $54.7 million, a gain from $52.8 million in the year-earlier period.
The normalized profit margin increased to 23.2% from 22.7% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue grew year over year to $235.5 million from $232.4 million, and total operating expenses totaled $148.7 million, compared with $148.2 million in the year-earlier period.
Reported net income declined year over year to $62.4 million, or 68 cents per share, from $63.2 million, or 67 cents per share.
