A minor roof fall in the 203B panel at Bounty Mining Ltd.'s Cook coal project in Queensland, Australia, resulted in production interruption, the company confirmed Oct. 22.
The incident partially buried the company's CM13 continuous miner. There were no injuries associated with the incident.
The company noted that Panel 203B is currently the only panel being mined at Cook.
The Department of Mines' Inspectorate is reviewing the planned process for the resumption of operations.
The company is expected to resume mining later this week with the company's second continuous miner, CM02, in another area of the 203B panel, following a full review of the mining process.
October production will be negatively impacted by the incident, the company said, noting that the full extent of the impact is still unclear and is still being assessed.
