Palo Alto Networks hires former government cybersecurity officials

Palo Alto Networks Inc. hired three former government cybersecurity officials as advisers.

Retired National Security Agency Deputy Director Richard Ledgett and Christopher Painter, the U.S. Department of State's former cybersecurity official, have joined the Palo Alto Networks Public Sector Advisory Council to advise the company on security and technical challenges and improve the company's cybersecurity strategy, the company said June 14.

In addition, the company hired retired U.S. Navy Rear Admiral Michael Brown as a strategic adviser. Brown has served as a private sector cybersecurity executive for the past five years. Brown will help the company engage security leaders internationally and across different levels of the U.S. government in addition to advising the company on security best practices.

Palo Alto Networks is a network and enterprise security company.
