Uniqlo Japan, a subsidiary of Fast Retailing Co. Ltd., on May 2 said it opened six new direct-run stores but closed two stores in Japan in April.
The apparel retailer has opened 21 and closed 23 stores during the first eight months of its fiscal year ending Aug. 31. Uniqlo Japan now has 794 direct-run and 41 franchise stores, a total of 835 stores, operating across the country.
Uniqlo opened 13 and closed 18 stores during the first half of the fiscal year, while it saw 8 new store openings and 5 store closings in March and April.
