Atos reports higher earnings, but misses analysts' estimates

European IT services group Atos SE on Feb. 21 reported higher full-year earnings from strong demand of organizations implementing digital transformation. The group, however, missed analysts' expectations.

Net income attributable to owners of the parent in 2017 increased to €601 million, or €5.70 per share, from €579 million, or €5.55 per share, in the previous year.

On a normalized basis, net income attributable to owners of the parent last year rose to €866 million, or €8.21 per share, from €783 million, or €7.51 per share, in 2016.

The S&P Capital IQ normalized consensus EPS estimate for 2017 was €8.34.

Full-year revenue grew to €12.69 billion from €12.41 billion in 2016, with the company's two biggest divisions posting gains. Infrastructure and data management revenue increased to €7.14 billion, and revenue at the business and platform solutions division advanced to €3.24 billion.

Operating income improved to €875 million in 2017 from €827 million a year earlier.
