Vail Resorts to acquire 4 resorts in 2 separate deals

Mountain resorts operator Vail Resorts Inc. said June 4 that it had agreed to buy four resorts.

In a statement, the company said it would acquire Triple Peaks LLC, which owns three resorts, for $82 million from the Mueller family.

At the closing of the deal, Vail Resorts will pay $155 million to Ski Resort Holdings LLC, an affiliate of Oz Real Estate, to pay off the leases of Okemo Mountain Resort in Vermont, Mount Sunapee Resort in New Hampshire and Crested Butte Mountain Resort in Colorado.

In a separate deal, Vail Resorts will acquire Stevens Pass Resort in Washington from Ski Resort Holdings for $67 million.

Both transactions are subject to certain closing conditions, including regulatory approvals. They are expected to close this summer.

Vail Resorts plant to invest $35 million over the next two years across the four properties to improve the customer experience. It expects capital expenses to increase $7 million to support the resorts.
