Employees Retirement System of Texas could commit as much as $825 million to real estate in its fiscal year 2019, IPE Real Assets reported, citing a board meeting document.

The pension fund, which plans to boost its real estate allocation in the next few years, is aiming to invest at least $550 million over the 12-month period starting Sept. 1, with the bulk of the amount to go toward noncore strategies.

The commitments could be between $50 million and $75 million, the report added.
