Sempra secures $85M in tax equity funding for 200-MW Calif. solar facility

Sempra Renewables LLC secured the final $85 million in tax equity funding for a 200-MW solar power facility near Fresno, Calif., from Wells Fargo Renewable Energy and Environmental Finance.

The transaction represents the last phase of the more than $190 million in financing for four solar farms, collectively known as the Sempra Great Valley solar project, according to an Aug. 8 news release

The Great Valley Solar Complex started commercial operation in May. The facility provides 100 MW to Marin Clean Energy, 60 MW to Sacramento Municipal Utility District, 20 MW to PG&E Corp. subsidiary Pacific Gas and Electric Co. and 20 MW to Edison International subsidiary Southern California Edison Co.

Sempra Renewables is a subsidiary of Sempra Energy.
