WD-40 fiscal Q2 profit climbs 7.6% YOY

WD-40 Co. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended Feb. 28 was 68 cents per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 72 cents per share.

EPS increased 11.8% year over year from 61 cents.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was $10.1 million, an increase of 7.6% from $9.3 million in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin rose to 10.3% from 9.9% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue grew year over year to $97.3 million from $94.2 million, and total operating expenses came to $79.7 million, compared with $78.9 million in the year-earlier period.

Reported net income increased 9.2% year over year to $11.2 million, or 76 cents per share, from $10.2 million, or 67 cents per share.
