US real estate ETFs log net outflows of $903M in February

U.S. real estate exchange-traded funds logged $903.3 million of net outflows in February, dropping total assets under management to $45.17 billion.

Vanguard Group Inc.'s Vanguard Real Estate ETF saw the largest net outflows during February at $1.17 billion, while SSgA Funds Management Inc.'s Real Estate Select Sector SPDR Fund logged the largest net inflows at $335.1 million.

All U.S. real estate ETFs posted negative total returns on both a monthly and yearly basis. BlackRock Inc.'s iShares U.S. Real Estate ETF saw the smallest decline among U.S. real estate ETFs with more than $100 million of assets under management for February at negative 6.66%, 134 basis points behind the S&P 500's negative 5.32% return for the month.
