Dai-ichi Life Insurance opens representative office in Myanmar

Dai-ichi Life Insurance Co. Ltd. opened a representative office in Myanmar, The Nikkei reported April 6.

The insurer set up the office in late March after obtaining approval from the Directorate of Investment and Company Administration, a government agency under Myanmar's Ministry of National Planning and Economic Development.

Dai-ichi Life is the second Japanese life insurer to set up an office in Myanmar after Taiyo Life Insurance Co. opened a representative office in 2012, the report added.

The company opened a representative office in Cambodia in 2016.
