Xenia Hotels shareholders reject annual sexual harassment report proposal

Xenia Hotels & Resorts Inc. shareholders rejected a proposal that called on the company to provide an annual report on sexual harassment complaints involving its hotel employees and guests, starting in 2020.

The proposal, presented by UNITE HERE, urged the hotel real estate investment trust to take the actions needed to prepare the report at reasonable cost and omit private and proprietary information.

Of all the votes cast at the REIT's May 21 annual shareholder meeting, 74,362,682 were against the proposal; 6,016,976 were in favor; 1,184,491 were abstentions; and 15,154,305 were broker non-votes.
