Yamaya Corp. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended Sept. 30 was ¥45.29 per share, an increase of 20.9% from ¥37.47 per share in the prior-year period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥491.0 million, a gain of 20.9% from ¥406.3 million in the prior-year period.
The normalized profit margin fell to 1.2% from 1.3% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue grew 30.9% year over year to ¥41.22 billion from ¥31.49 billion, and total operating expenses climbed 29.5% from the prior-year period to ¥39.98 billion from ¥30.88 billion.
Reported net income declined from the prior-year period to ¥391.0 million, or ¥36.06 per share, from ¥405.0 million, or ¥37.35 per share.
As of Nov. 14, US$1 was equivalent to ¥116.46.
