Alpha Corp. fiscal Q3 profit climbs 36.1% YOY

ALPHA Corp. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Dec. 31, 2014, amounted to ¥47.97 per share, a gain of 36.1% from ¥35.24 per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥458.3 million, an increase of 36.1% from ¥336.6 million in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin rose to 4.1% from 2.7% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue declined 12.2% on an annual basis to ¥11.14 billion from ¥12.69 billion, and total operating expenses decreased 12.0% on an annual basis to ¥10.98 billion from ¥12.47 billion.

Reported net income increased 87.1% from the prior-year period to ¥593.0 million, or ¥62.08 per share, from ¥317.0 million, or ¥33.19 per share.

As of Feb. 10, US$1 was equivalent to ¥119.28.
