ENGIE North America acquires solar, storage projects in Massachusetts

ENGIE North America Inc. has acquired a four-project portfolio consisting of 25 MW of solar facilities and 22 MWh of energy storage capacity.

The acquisition marks the first of several solar-plus-storage portfolios to be constructed, owned and operated by ENGIE under the Solar Massachusetts Renewable Target Program.

The projects are expected to reach operations by the third quarter of 2020 and will participate in ISO New England wholesale markets, according to a Sept. 23 news release.

ENGIE Storage will operate the energy storage systems for 20 years while ENGIE Distributed Solar will operate the solar installations.

Engie SA is the ultimate parent of ENGIE North America.
