Powin Energy expects delivery of 70 MWh of energy storage projects in early 2019

Powin Energy said it is set to deliver over 32.8 MW/70 MWh of energy storage projects by early 2019.

These projects include the 8.8-MW/40.4-MWh IESO Stratford and the 2-MW/6-MWh IESO Kitchener that will provide services to Canada's Independent Electricity System Operator, according to a Sept. 5 news release.

The company also is installing a 12-MW/12-MWh energy storage system in Mexico and has been selected to supply a 10-MW/10-MWh project in Italy.

Citing a strong longer-term market, Powin Energy said it also has secured contracts to install an additional 94.7 MW/411 MWh between the fourth quarter of 2019 and late 2021.

"Powin has enjoyed an exceptionally strong 2018 so far and has solid bookings for next year. We're extremely confident of our growth path and pleased with our progress transitioning away from project management to strategic supplier," Powin President Geoff Brown said.

With the growing demand, Powin also named Blake Frye as executive vice president of sales to capture additional opportunities.
