Vista Equity Partners merging AltaReturn with Black Mountain Systems

Investment firm Vista Equity Partners Management LLC acquired AltaReturn, a provider of cloud-based technology solutions for the private capital and family office markets, for an undisclosed sum.

Following the deal, Vista Equity will merge AltaReturn with Black Mountain Systems LLC, which provides workflow software solutions to credit investors and alternative asset managers, to form a new Miami-based entity named Allvue Systems.

The merged entity is expected to become a single technology provider for both single strategy and multi-asset firms, administrators and limited partners.

A combined management team will lead Allvue Systems, with AltaReturn co-founder Rey Acosta as CEO and Black Mountain co-CEO Kevin MacDonald as COO.

AltaReturn tapped Deutsche Bank as exclusive financial adviser on the deal, with K&L Gates LLP as legal adviser. Vista Equity hired Jefferies LLC and Kirkland & Ellis as financial and legal advisers, respectively.
