Energizer Holdings Inc. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended March 31 amounted to $3.2 million, compared with income of $25.0 million in the prior-year period.
Normalized net income excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis.
The normalized profit margin increased to 7.1% from 6.7% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue declined on an annual basis to $356.9 million from $373.4 million, and total operating expenses grew 8.3% from the prior-year period to $350.1 million from $323.2 million.
Reported net income came to a loss of $69.2 million, compared with income of $16.5 million in the prior-year period.
