Former and current officials of the Central Bank of Kenya are under investigation by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission for their role in the accounting fraud that led to the collapse of Imperial Bank Ltd., Business Daily Africa reported.
Noordin Haji, Kenya's director of public prosecutions, recently said that an ongoing inquiry into Imperial Bank executives would extend to central bank officials, the May 25 report noted.
The regulator placed Imperial Bank under receivership in October 2015 after discovering "unsafe or unsound business conditions" at the lender.
